About
I am a licensed psychologist in both California and New York and have had private practices in the San Francisco Bay Area and now in NYC. I earned my B.A. in psychology from Barnard College, Columbia University and my M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from St. John’s University. Prior to private practice, I was a staff psychologist at Notre Dame de Namur Counseling Services, where I provided therapy to undergraduate and graduate students, and I also provided training and supervision to therapists-in-training.
I work from an integrated approach, drawing from relational, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral perspectives. I specialize in individual psychotherapy with young adults and adults around issues of anxiety and depression, life transitions, relationship difficulties, self-worth and sexual/religious/cultural/racial identity. I have worked with a diverse client population ranging from adolescents to geriatric, and from all walks of life.
As an Asian American therapist, I am dedicated to providing culturally sensitive services and being attuned to issues around marginalization and privilege. My research interests have included ethnic identity development, racial trauma, and ethnic disparities in psychological and physical health. I have co-authored articles in peer reviewed journals and presented research findings on these topics at national conferences. I have also taught as an adjunct professor at St. John's University.
